I am a Licensed Professional Counselor self employed in private practice; I specialize in forensic services with families and individuals who have experienced trauma or are involved in court litigation. I am an involved volunteer in the school and member of P4, single mom of a college freshman and a 9th grader at NEXT. My 9th grader is a gifted learner with social delays secondary to ADHD. We chose NEXT for small size and teaching model, but found the supportive environment created by dedicated staff to be the real gift. For the first two weeks of school my child thanked me daily for enrolling him at NEXT and I see him developing social skills before my eyes!
Qualifications and Reasons to Serve:
I have an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Clemson and a Masters of Education in Clinical Counseling from The Citadel. I have been a practicing professional of good reputation in the Greenville area for more than twenty years, with work experience in both non-profit and private community based service organizations. As a parent I have seen the difference NEXT has made for my own child; as a clinician working with complex family systems I am aware of the difference NEXT can make for so many teenagers, who for a variety of reasons, are not equipped to excel in traditional high school settings.
